OK, maybe someone has come up with something easier, cooler, whatever, but I searched for hours and found nothing. After trying several WordPress Ecommerce plugins that were too cumbersome, too complicated or just plain buggy, I found something so easy, I could hardly believe it worked!!

What I needed was a simple way to use Google Checkout with WordPress that would allow variable pricing based upon product options, such as quantity, and I needed to keep it simple, no inventory, no fancy stuff.

What I found was what I’d wanted to use all along, Google Checkout Shopping Cart Code. The reason I didn’t try that first is that, the “View Cart” code needs to be inserted on every page just before the tag. To get around that, I used a text widget and just inserted the code into the sidebar. It works like a charm!

Now, some folks might not like the “View Cart” pop-up being visible on every page, but it works fine for this site. And with Google charging 1.9%-2.9% + 30¢ per transaction, it really doesn’t get much better.
